Winston Reid to the Arse
It's being reported here in NZ that the fullback could be off to Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Full back you say?

Re: Winston Reid to the Arse
Can't see it really. Especially if he is just a stop gap for injuries, he'd be nuts to take that.

He'd be better off waiting until summer whatever happens. Maybe a move abroad.

The bloke has got to think that in order to progress his career he is going to need champions league football.

So of course he'll stay.

Arsenal and Man Utd interest is old news, as is our interest in the Brighton centre back to replace him. It's all cat and mouse of a contract negotiation.

They're just picking stuff up from the British tabloids. If it was the Danish press, I'd take some notice. That is where his family lives and his agents are.

Que Sera, Sera
Be a shame, but we haven't lost out in any way. Even if he goes on a free.
Got a good few yrs on a gamble. And we did alright out of it.

A couple of weeks ago it was being reported in the NZ press that Winston was set to join Liverpool in Jan. For 15 million quid!!!!!!

My hope is he sees the improvement we have made and a possible push for Europe on the cards. He may want to be part of that.
i think he would be a bit part player at Arsenal and i don't think Liverpool will be champions league next year.

By the time the window comes around there will be stories about several of players going to one of the'former' big clubs.

I got the impression that Liverpool have tapped him up and he would take up their offer in the summer. Thought other teams might have been interested preseason otherwise.

Might be having second thoughts and is just waiting to see whether they stay up.

Hopefully he will read Alex Song's interview in the Mirror and decide to stay.

Buy the fella from Brighton and offload,he thinks he is better than he actually is!

Re: Winston Reid to the Arse
He's not going anywhere in January, for the money we'd get for him, unless we were ultra confident of replacing him with someone as good, it won't be worth it.

I expect him to go in January, and with the money we now get to spend, he won't be the hardest player to replace. I'd rather he stayed, but it doesn't seem likely.
